It is with great sadness that we post this information. The Building Child Care Project, a 10 year program funded through the Child Development Division of the California Department of Education Quality improvement plan projects has been eliminated in the state’s budget, retroactive as of October 1, 2010.
We are working hard towards finding ways to keep this very important program funded. Effective immediately the Building Child Care technical assistance component is on hold. We will no longer be able to provide service through our 800 helpline, financial one-one technical assistance and our quarterly newsletter. Our website will remain live but, unfortunately, we will not be able to update any new resources, information or publications.
We all know how important quality facilities are to child care programs, and we are determined to keep the Building Child Care project alive. Not only are the BCC collaborative partners working on ways to save this project but other advocates are helping as well. We hope this is only a temporary setback and that we will be back very soon to service your needs.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or ideas of how to refund this program. You can email your comments/questions to bcc@insightcced.org.
Sincerely,
The BCC Collaborative Partners
The Building Child Care (BCC) Project provides a centralized clearinghouse of information and services to increase the California child care sector's understanding of the facilities development process and access to facility development resources.
With the assistance and input of many others across the state, the four collaborative partners on this project have combined their experience, resources and expertise to build a network of information and services for people interested in acquiring, building, renovating, or expanding child care facilities. This project is funded by the California Department of Education.
